This special issue on Metabolome–Microbiome in Health and Diseases for One Health aims to bring together cutting-edge research and integrative reviews at the intersection of metabolomics, microbiome science, and computational biology to advance the One Health agenda. This collection emphasizes system-level understanding of how host, microbial, and environmental metabolomes interact to influence health, disease, and sustainability across humans, animals, and ecosystems. The goal is to highlight how multi-omics integration and AI-enabled analytics can unravel metabolic networks and microbial functions underlying chronic diseases, infectious diseases, and environmental health risks – bridging gaps between human, animal, and environmental health systems.
This collection welcomes original research, reviews, methods papers, and data resource articles that explore:
Possible research topics include but are not limited to:
We encourage researchers, engineers, scientists, and students in related fields to submit their work for consideration in this special issue. All manuscripts will receive expedited handling, and the accepted version will appear online within one week. Please note that every accepted paper is subjected to a processing fee as per Elsevier’s open access journal policies.
